Tapas Acupressure Technique

Tapas Acupressure Technique was developed in the 1990's in America by the acupuncturist Tapas Fleming.

Tapas Fleming trained as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her early interest was in the treatment of allergies. Using acupuncture and acupressure she based her early work on the treatment methods of Dr Nevi Nambudripad, a pioneering expert in the field of allergies.

Developing her own innovative methods she initially used TAT to alleviate allergies and sensitivities. As she worked more and more with the technique she began to be influenced by other leading innovators in the field of energy therapy, including Larry Nimms. This led her to expanding the technique.

TAT is a simple technique that is used on allergies, emotional issues, traumas, phobias and negative belief systems etc.

The Mexican Association for Crisis Therapy currently uses the Tapas Acupressure Technique with groups of people who have experienced natural disasters. These groups range in size from 2 to 190, men, women and children, and generally take place out in the open air in Mexico.

What is TAT?

It is a very simple technique. The fingers are placed on or over certain acupressure points. Whilst the person is holding this posture the person is guided to put their attention on a series of thoughts related around the problem. No analysis of the problem is required. It is a very gentle technique. It can be used by children.

How Does TAT Work?

TAT enables the mind to process out events. It often gains results within minutes. The therapist guides the client through a sequence of instructions to their unconscious mind.

The initial part of the sequence focuses the client on their problem. This part of the process may take up to four minutes. Then a series of instructions are communicated to the mind/body .These deal with the origins of issues, blame, guilt, secondary gain. The client does not even require conscious awareness of the origins as the mind/ body is simply instructed to deal with them. Using the TAT pose it enables instructions to be communicated to the deeper levels of the mind. TAT communicates at a cellular level, without the need for any inductions it merely requires the client to place their fingers/ hands on various points around the back of their head and face.

Benefits Of TAT

TAT requires minimal exploration of the problem. And therefore it can be extremely fast in gaining results even when the clients is unable to give much information about their issue
